3 Best Flashlights – When in Need of Some Serious Lighting Power

big flash light

Nowadays, with the fast-paced advancements in technology, it is getting hard to keep up with all that’s going on. Almost every day we hear about game-changing innovations that have a huge impact on different aspects of our life and flashlight technology is not exception. Thanks to new space-age materials, we are getting light-weight flashlights with amazing durability. Advances in LED technology contribute to more and more light output and with the new battery types the run time on an average flashlight is longer than ever. It makes you wonder: if they can pack so much power in a small chain torch, what can you expect from a relatively big flash light?

To get a general idea, I’ve come up with a list of my top 3 big flash light for people in need of some serious power when it comes to light output. I’m not talking about “wow that’s bright” kind of power, I’m talking about “holly mother of Jesus that thing is so bright, it can cause an airplane accident” power. Anyway, here are my top picks from the biggest and brightest flashlights currently available on the market.

  • Fenix RC40 rechargeable search light 2016 is anything you would expect from a Fenix flashlight in terms of performance and quality. Weighing at 1234g it has five CREE XM-L2 LEDs which can produce an amazing 6000 lumens at a maximum distance of 730 meters and it is the most powerful hand held torch I have ever come across. It has multiple lighting modes including strobe and SOS. The 7.4V 7800mAh lithium-ion (li-ion) rechargeable battery can provide up to 125 hours of run time in eco mode and even features an USB port which you can use to charge other devices such as your phone.

  • JETBeam DDR30 LED torch is smaller and not as powerful as the Fenix RC40, but it is just as impressive. It weighs 480g and has three CREE XM-L2 LEDs that produce up to 3300 lumens of light output and a maximum distance of 450 meters. This super torch has three brightness modes and a digital display that shows both the current mode and how much power you have remaining. It can run up to 60 hours at a low setting and is also rechargeable.

  • Led Lenser X21R.2 rechargeable focusable LED torch is my favourite super torch, or until they release the next model. This baby has seven LEDs that produce up to 3200 lumens and thanks to the Advanced Focus System, it can light up an object at a distance of 700 meters. This state-of-the-art German engineered piece of technology is perfect for long-range search and rescue operations, but also for outdoor and wildlife adventures. It has all the features you can imagine that will satisfy the needs of even the most dedicated professional.

Again, these are just some of my personal favourites. You can find a big flash light with similar performance, quality, and price from other acknowledged manufacturers such as Nitecore, Olight, Klarus, ThruNite, Sunwayman, and many more.
